My Poshmark Experience and Future Plans
Share
I’ve been using Poshmark for around eight years — pretty much since the early days. I’m not 100% sure of the exact date, but I’ve been there long enough to understand how it works and how the market moves. Poshmark has always been solid for me, especially when it comes to getting offers. The shipping system is simple, but the shipping cost can be on the high side, and that’s why buyers send a lot of offers — they’re trying to balance out the total price.
I cross-list most of my items.
If something doesn’t sell on eBay, it might sell on Poshmark.
If it doesn’t sell on Poshmark, it might sell on Mercari.
At the end of the day, I’m cool with the customer buying from any of the platforms — eBay, Poshmark, Mercari — as long as they get a good deal and I complete the sale. Win for them, win for me.
But I’m also thinking bigger.
I want to eventually move my items onto my own website, so I can lower the fees and give even better prices to my customers. Marketplaces are good, but they take a lot in fees. If I build my own store, I can control my prices, keep more profit, and still offer solid deals.
I’ll probably create a separate shop section on my website where all my resell items can live — clothing, tech, random finds, all of it — without affecting my own clothing brand or my official merch. Two different lanes, but all under my control.
